From One Town To Many

KMC Publishing Company began in Matteson, Illinois as a single small town photo book, a quiet experiment in preserving community memory. That first volume opened the door to institutional histories for schools, churches, nonprofits, and businesses, each one carefully researched, richly illustrated, and designed to endure as a trusted record for generations.

Growing In Depth

Since 2007, our work has expanded into large scale histories, including a two volume hardcover totaling 1,095 pages and more than 2,000 photographs. These projects move between research, interviews, and committee reviews, with our editorial team guiding each stage so that every chapter reflects the institution's voice and collective memory.

Kevin McNulty Sr, Founder

Educator, association executive, historian, and author of ten books, Kevin McNulty Sr founded KMC Publishing Company in 2007 after years spent listening to how institutions tell their stories. His decades in education and organizational leadership guide our work, blending rigorous research with empathy for governance, mission, and community life, so each history reflects the people who shaped it.

A Collaborative Editorial Team

Our editorial staff, designers, and project coordinators work closely with client committees, guiding each project from early research through final page proofs. We organize source materials, curate photo archives, and manage drafts in transparent stages, a team-based model that honors diverse viewpoints, safeguards institutional memory, and maintains clear accountability at every step.
